Overview
This person is responsible for designing the look, feel, and functionality of our products on Desktop/Mobile.
Responsibilities
- Designing user interfaces and user flows: This includes creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to illustrate how the product will look and function.
- Conducting user research and usability testing: This involves gathering and analyzing data about how users interact with the product and using this information to inform design decisions.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams: This includes working with product managers, developers, and other designers to ensure the product meets the needs of users and the business.
- Managing the design process: This might involve creating and maintaining design systems, style guides, and design libraries to ensure consistency and efficiency in the design process.
- Communicating design concepts and decisions: This involves presenting designs to stakeholders and explaining the reasoning behind design choices.
- Staying up-to-date with design trends and best practices: This includes staying informed about new technologies, design tools, and design patterns, and applying this knowledge to improve the user experience.
- Contribute to the development of the product roadmap: This includes providing input on the design direction of new features and enhancements and ensuring that the product is consistently meeting the needs of users.

Seeker of Truth in Stocks or Cryptos
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Contract
Overview
The Seeker of Truth is tasked with performing fundamentals analysis and valuing stocks and/or cryptos that are deemed comfortable to invest in from a halal perspective to assess their return potential.
These assessments should be written in an accessible manner wherein readers can benefit from them regardless of their prior knowledge levels and investing backgrounds.
Qualifications
The seeker of truth must meet the following criteria:
- Excellent English writing skills.
- A genuine interest in at least one: stocks or cryptocurrencies.
- Experience investing in either stocks or cryptocurrencies.
- For crypto analysts having a basic understanding of blockchain technology is required.
- For stock analysts having a basic understanding of income statements, balance sheets, and statements of cash flow is required.
- You preferably use a tool such as Grammarly as a backup to catch issues you missed.
- You’re conscious of writing elements beyond grammar that make text easy and enjoyable to read: varied sentence structure, rich vocabulary, succinctness, etc.
- Attention to detial. Did you catch that?
- You have the ability to do independent research.
- You should be able to fact-check and distinguish between reliable and unreliable sources.
- You should be able to read and summarize other sources without plagiarizing content.
Deadlines should be met.
PIF has a content publishing schedule. If you tell us that you’ll deliver work by Wednesday but then we hear nothing from you by Wednesday, this creates problems. Occasional delays are not a big deal as long as you keep the editor informed.
Payment Rate
Although it’s common for clients to pay freelancers per word, we deliberately pay per article.
Bonuses will be given for exceptional submissions at the discretion of the editorial team.
Certain articles are longer, more in-depth, and may require more time and effort than normal. In which case we will pay per hour.
When paying per hour is deemed appropriate, everything you do as part of producing articles is billable time. We will pay for the hours you spend researching, writing, and editing articles.
We don’t micromanage. As long as you’re delivering quality work, we won’t ever dissect your billable hours.
It is your responsibility to honor weekly limits on billable hours. We cannot pay for hours billed beyond our agreed weekly maximum.
Attribution and Rights
Articles on Practical Islamic Halal Finance do not have links to the author’s websites.
Practical Islamic Halal Finance retains full intellectual property rights to all content writers produce during the hours they bill. Before writers begin working for Practical Islamic Halal Finance, they will receive a freelance writing contract to sign that spells out the details of intellectual property rights.

Digital Marketing Vizier
Location: Remote

Overview
PIF is looking for a Digital marketing manager to be responsible for our end-to-end email marketing strategy, including writing copy, managing our email database, compiling a weekly customer newsletter, and more.
This individual will work closely with the content and product teams, to identify how to best target user groups and develop the email content they’re seeking.
The ideal candidate will collaborate across functions to deliver an effective email marketing strategy to meet the business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with content and product teams to identify our target email audience and grow our email list.
- Design and implement direct email marketing campaigns. This includes (but is not limited to) developing copy and subject lines, designing email templates, building email lists, and more.
- Manage and report on email marketing campaigns and results; use results to determine ROI, make suggestions for improvements, and establish best practices
- Ensure prompt, accurate, and error-free communication with customers to build loyal relationships and minimize unsubscribes
- Work with leadership to determine goals; report on sales revenue generated from email marketing efforts
- Maintain email database
- Upgrade email sends through sourced graphics, customization, calls-to-action, and additional advanced features
- Ensure emails follow industry standards and privacy policies
Qualifications
- 1+ years of digital marketing, marketing analytics, or email marketing experience, preferably in a finance or investment-related company.
- Impeccable grammar, writing skills, and deep understanding of email copy
- Ability to track, measure, and report on results of email marketing campaigns to determine ROI
- Sufficient experience in marketing automation and content management systems
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to provide actionable insights from data
- Solid understanding of the sales lifecycle
- Self-starter with a history of pushing for deadline-driven results
- Experience in halal investing or Islamic finance is a plus
Payment Rate
This position is paid per hour.
Bonuses will be given for exceptional work and milestone accomplishments. Milestone accomplishments will also be tied to pay raises.

Responsibilities
As a content vizier, you are tasked with ensuring PIF is investing in creating content that increases leads and sales.
Some of the main blog management responsibilities include:
- Proofreading content before publishing
- Leading brainstorming sessions
- Developing a content strategy and prioritizing blog topics
- Managing a blogging calendar (make sure posts go out on schedule)
- Hiring and managing analysts, whom we like to call "Seekers of Truth"
- Teaching and training internal contributors
- Finding and managing guest bloggers
- Analyzing results
It’s also the Blog Manager’s responsibility to ensure all blog posts follow best practices related to:
- Search Engine Optimization
- Format & layout
- Readability
- Graphics
- Hyperlinks (interlinking articles)
- Calls-to-actions
Qualifications
- Excellent writing skills
- Familiarity with blogging best practices
- Familiarity with Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- Project management abilities
- Has an eye for graphic design
Payment Rate
This position is paid per hour.
